Grade Level Writing

Parent Question:   When I look at my child's writing, it looks like she is under-performing,  but she received an A in writing. How do I know if my child's writing is on grade level?

Answer: This is a common question asked by many parents.  One is to compare your child's writing with reliable sources such as Write Source; this can give you an good indication.  The best option is to schedule an appointment with your child's teacher and ask the teacher to review the writing in conjunction with grade level writing standards.
